I believe if there was anything that really worked for the current president of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari, apart from the fact that people were tired of PDP was that he(Buhari) was seen a sincere man who is incorruptible and the one that could help battle corruption, this is evident in his first presidential acceptance speech where he said "I belong to everybody, and I belong to nobody". Buhari is seen as a man of integrity and Nigeria as a country needed integrity for a change from the then corruption ridden government of PDP.
Having said this, I believe President Buhari as much as the country needs a man like him, I am of the opinion that he is running the wrong office.
The major agenda of the Buhari government is to fight corruption which is very commendable but I must say it is not enough. We must be sincere with ourselves, there is no way you can fight corruption without being suspicious and mindful of every penny that goes out of the government's coffers it may even go as worse as deciding not disburse any funds into the economy and this is exactly what is happening now and alas, recession takes effect.
Muhammad Buhari would have been very perfect and more resourceful had it been he's running the ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION EFCC and but not as a President of the country. He would have been able to concentrate his energy and mind on curbing the menace of corrupt leaders without having to run other parastatals as expected of him as the President.
Obviously, we all know when last the EFCC was effective. We all know that was under the chairmanship of Ribadu, others after him have been a case of one toothless dog to another. A man like Buhari would have impacted a lot in that direction than where he is holding currently.
To run a government effectively there is need to put in place measures that can serve as succour to ease the effect the mopping of looted funds back to the government coffers would have on the innocent masses and not just to focus on mapping alone which I think the current government is doing.
In my view, Buhari is more prepared for the post of a chairman at the ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION office than that of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
