One of the essences of getting a formal Education is to get an edge over those that does not value it. In a sane world, education is suppose to be more celebrated and encouraged than hooliganism and thuggery. We are suppose to give a distinct difference between a road to a better and sustainable Country and the path to an imminent destruction.

During the week, the federal government announced that it has resumed payments of cash to former militants agreed under a 2009 amnesty in the country’s Niger Delta oil hub. A salary which is calculated to be within the region of #65,000 monthly and also a job training.
This wouldn't have been a bad idea had been the current administration at the Federal level made do of their promise during one of their campaigns where it was promised that this government if given a chance, will increase the stipend all Serving Corp members are being paid from #18,800 to #40,000 but till now that has so far been an unrealistic dream.
The implication of agreeing to pay some thugs who call themselves Militants a monthly salary of #65,000 while your graduates are being suffered even before they could access their monthly stipend of #18,000 is that hooliganism pays more than Education. Having taken this decision, the federal government should expect more militants as Militancy is indirectly been approved and encouraged. In short, become a militant, get paid reject militancy get nothing.
It is also important to note that this militants are time bomb, which is bound to go off with time. There is probably going to be a time if not soon when the government will default in paying the monthly salary for being a militant or a new government may come into power and decide not to continue with the payment. What happens next???
Instead of paying this set of idle, lazy bones the Federal government should get down to the impoverished state that serves as abode for them(militants), spend money on this communities, the ogoja clean should be given priority and most of all monitor all funds allocated for this States and make sure they are used judiciously for the purpose which it's meant for(masses). I want to believe when there is no reason for this militants to remain same, they would find a befitting jobs and anyone that choose to remain a militant can be dealt with appropriately.
Education should be encouraged, not hooliganism and Militancy.
