A caged Peacock

A Peacock is one of the most beautiful birds in the world. Whenever this bird spreads its feathers to reveal the hidden colourful wings, it's always a pleasant sight to behold to both young and old. This are some of the interesting fact about peacock that will interest you;

  " In Egypt, the peacock was sacred to the sun god Amun Ra. In Rome, it was sacred to Juno. In India, the peacock is associated with Hindra, the god of thunder. The peacock is one of many animals ridden by Buddha. Early Christians considered the peacock a symbol of immortality and resurrection: immortality, because they believed wrongly that dead peacocks did not decay; and resurrection, because peacocks shed their magnificent feathers every year and grow new ones. In the West, dreaming of a peacock is a sign of personal satisfaction. You have achieved something worthwhile, and this has bolstered your pride and self-esteem."

Personally,i see nothing else so special about this bird, if the colourful wings are taken out of the picture. Have you ever imagined a Peacock without those beautiful wings?

A peacock without the beautiful wings amount to it(peacock) being just another bird, there wouldn't have been anything special about it. Then again can you now imagine a Peacock held down in a cage?

Some people believe that a Peacock gets a form of satisfaction and fulfilment whenever its gets to display its colourful wings especially when humans are watching, it will now be a great crime to hold this bird in a cage where it can flaunt its pride (wings). I want to believe this is tantamount to sentencing the bird to death as its pride and comfort have been taken away by this act.

You are a Peacock, your Talents or Gifts are your beautiful coloured wings, whatever excuse you're giving not to utilise your gift is the self made cage. And definitely, it's not going to bring a pleasant outcome, as without that your Colourful Wings you're just another guy next door with nothing special.

Why not break loose out of that cage (either self made, family built, or environmentally constructed) and be that free Peacock you are suppose to be. Displaying that awesome wings you've got for the World to see and marvel at its sight.
